Siege of Caracas

Urgent News!!! - July 30th Despite the clemency for General Paez by President Bolivar and Vice President Santandar, unrest and dissent against him has been growing, especially for the Centralists in Gran Columbia. In the past month, a military alliance by governors Juan Manuel Valdez, Jacinto Lara and Fernando Panalver has been established to attack the Caracas region. Valdes's company struck from Angostura, heading North-west to Caracas through Maturin by roads. These troops arrived in Orinoco as part of the bandit extermination alliance. Among the troops are men on horseback of unparalleled skill compared to the Venezuelan. Jacinto Lara’s company is coming from Achaguas while Panalver’s Carabobo Company will strike from the side of Valencia. This has led to a pincer movement against Paez, laying a three-front siege onto Caracas. As Caracas is a coastal city and General Paez has readied his troops and resources, he should be able to last for at least 3 months in the city. According to our latest sources, General Paez has asked for help from his allies: Governor Santiago Marino from Maturin and Governor Durga Sturdy from Zulia, both of which have been readying their troops to relieve pressure from Caracas. Update - August 15th General Paez's allies have suddenly chosen to back off from fighting, returning to their individual regions instead. An agreement has also been reached by General Paez and the besieging forces, where their armies shall stay outside Caracas for a week to confirm his surrender. This foolish war, started by weak and confused leaders with no sense or reason, has ended in a characteristically idiotic fashion. This has led to countless causalities, livelihoods lost, and resourced dispensed and for absolutely no reason. While the besiegers have grew in profits and popularity for their successful war, General Paez's popularity has declined to an all time low. It seems that the only thing keeping him a leader is mere formality and residue popularity from the War of Independance, residual popularity that is fast running dry. As of now, the war has been ended and the siege finished. However, General Paez has declared his intention to continue a process of secession from Gran Columbia, but through legal means established in the Constitution from the Congress of Ocana.
