A Liberal Stance on the Disowning of The Catholic Church

The church is currently holding an opulent, absurd and repulsive amount of wealth. This is frankly unacceptable! What have they done for us? This is our money, OUR taxes that we have paid to them over the past decades. Now it is OURS to reclaim.

The church must be disowned of land, endowments and money. All of this must go to the state, which should be the only institution with this amount of power since it is the only institution that is truly in representation of the people. The land must be sold and the profits must be invested to further this Nation. Ever since the wars of independence, our country has been struggling with intense debt and an overall lack of funding. Just imagine all the things we could do, if we had more liquidity. By disowning the church we can reach the following goals:

1. Building railways, improving transportation and creating trade routes has been necessary for years. We need to finally take these steps in order to compete with and increasingly industrialised Europe.

2. An expansion of the military is direly needed, making Gran Colombia a stronger force and establishing it against the Spanish and by extension especially against Peru.

I urge you, fellow Liberals to act on this call and take action!
